THE STUDIO

Freda Recording is a music production studio tucked into the hills outside Nashville — a place to slow down, dig deep, and make records that last.

After a 2-year design and building process, Freda Recording opened its doors to its first project.

Built on an old corn field, the studio is designed to offer independent and career focused musicians an immersive, slow-paced environment to unplug and record.

The facility itself emphasizes:

  • Natural light, organic elements, and non-toxic building materials

  • 2500 square foot private, nature-focused boutique recording studio

  • 30 foot ceilings, a control room, iso booth, 2 bathrooms, a cozy loft for relaxing, and a full kitchen with dining area

  • Disconnecting from everyday demands (no cell service out here)

We work slowly on purpose. We chase the take that makes your arm hair stand up, not the one that's easiest to fix. This is a place to make a record you'll still be proud of in twenty years.

ACCOMODATIONS

Our Retreat House (aka The Tiny Home) is your private sanctuary away from the recording studio where you can unplug, rejuvenate and find stillness. Our Retreat House is an open concept 250 square foot house with a private bathroom, kitchenette, a queen bed, a kitchen table, a loveseat, and a front porch.

Accommodations are available upon request to all artists who record at Freda. We also invite artists to stay with us for writing retreats.
