ABOUT US

In 2024 Nick and Meredith opened Freda Recording. Combining their talents for producing undeniably great music, visual storytelling, and hospitality, they and their team love helping artist realize their full potential and making dreams come true.

ABOUT NICK

“I think of the artists who will come here, hearts full, voices loud and excited to grow into the great artist (and person) they are meant to grow into. I pinch myself at how lucky I am to be able to help them realize that greatness and realize their dream.”

I help artists, songwriters, musicians and bands realize their full potential. By serving the song, and honoring your vision we create music that genuinely moves people, and helps you achieve your personal and professional goals. My work has been featured in commercials, on network TV, in podcasts and in film.

Really I am many things, like all of us, but for the sake of the here and now, I'll say that I am a producer, an engineer, a musician, a cheerleader, and a recording enthusiast.

One of the many things I was taught as a young man was to follow my curiosity. That led me to music school, to my band of ten years (and over fifteen hundred shows all over the world), and to my love of recording today. Asking questions and discovering answers has given me a wonderful life and an ever inspiring relationship with music, and the artists I work with. Thankfully, there is no destination on this path, only growth.

Whether I'm producing a project, or writing with an artist, or sitting at the console mixing a record, everyday I do my best to live by some pretty simple principles; be honest, be present, try to learn something new, help others dig deep to be the best version of themselves they can be, and when in doubt, always reference a Beatles or Stones song (not kidding).

So here I am, ten year into living in Nashville TN, married to the love of my life, Meredith (an amazingly talented visual artist), with three incredible (and curious) boys. I’m building my very own, dream come true recording studio, Freda Recording, named after my Grandmother. I currently work out of one of the greatest studios in the world (Dog House Studio owned by the legend, good friend and my mentor Neal Cappellino). Each day is a gift. I'm eternally grateful that I get to create music with some of the best people in the world.

ABOUT MEREDITH

When I reflect on the role music has played in my life, I think of the moments when it quite literally carried me—through heartbreak, through grief, through growth, through transformation. Whether it was an album on repeat while I painted that helped me heal, a single lyric that made me feel understood, or a chord progression that could turn an ordinary moment into something unforgettable—music has made me new, again and again.

It’s a privilege to witness the magic that happens here in the studio. Every day, I get to see artists tap into something real and sacred. I get to watch songs become the soundtrack to someone else’s healing, joy, or awakening.

I’m grateful to walk alongside my husband, supporting his dreams while discovering my own. I knew I wanted to be part of this vision—not just behind the scenes, but right in the heart of it all. When we first started designing the studio, I told Nick I wanted to be the Creative Director of Freda Recording… even though, at the time, I wasn’t entirely sure what that role would look like.

Today, as Co-Founder and Creative Director, I have the joy and privilege of working closely with each artist who comes through our doors. Whether it’s crafting album artwork, shaping visual storytelling, or guiding social media and online presence, I love helping artists not just create—but to share their story and grow into the fullest, most confident version of themselves.

This studio has become such a blessing—not just for Nick and I, but for our children, our family, our friends, and every artist who creates here.

We’re so glad you’re here and we can’t wait to serve you.

ABOUT FREDA
A woman with short curly hair sitting on a stove with a young boy standing between her legs, both smiling. The woman is wearing a red patterned blouse and the boy is wearing a white jacket over a graphic T-shirt. They are in a kitchen with a vintage wallpaper and an electric stove.

My grandmother Freda, mother of 6 girls, restaurant owner, maker of incredible chicken wings, and with a laugh that filled the room, was known for her hospitality. Sharing her gift of making people feel loved and special was one of the ways she brought her light into the world. Carrying that mantel of hospitality forward is one of the most important values to us. We believe that making people feel loved and special helps them do their best work and their best art.
