The ‘No More Demos’ Project.
No more procrastination.
No more worry if you can afford a high quality recording.
One of the most common struggles for musicians today is financial instability. Recording costs can often be more than what an emerging artist can afford.
When I was a touring musician, the cost to record a full length album was something that took years to save up for.
At Freda Recording, our mission is to help artists reach their true potential, and high quality recordings are a large part of that picture. This opportunity exists for us to make something truly magical and affordable at the same time.
The ‘No More Demos’ Project
The ‘No More Demos’ Project is an invite only opportunity to work with grammy award winning studio musicians and record makers in a world class studio. It's an opportunity to realize the potential of your amazing song, and then proudly share it with your community and your fans.

Here is what other artists are saying about their experience with us:
“Nick is a great producer with an amazing ear, creative ideas and good sense of humor (which is more important than you might think). He’s adaptable and open to new ideas as well as ongoing feedback. He also has an amazing work ethic, is very focussed and professional every step of the way. He’s great with people and able to communicate with ease both musically and in a regular type of fashion.”
— Catherine Traicos
“We can’t recommend you enough! You’re a studio wizard that really keeps the creative vision in place and nurtures ideas while being courteous and respectful to everyone involved. We’ve learned so much working on this project with you and look forward to more.”
— The Bird and The Bear
“There are a lot of people in this industry with agendas and it’s very easy to feel un-listened to, especially as a woman. But I know that I’m heard and respected as an artist and a person working with you. Nick communicates openly and kindly, and I know I can trust leaving decisions - including creative ones that I might otherwise be precious over (I know I’m a control freak) - in Nick’s hands because he takes the time to truly understand and honor my vision as an artist and songwriter. Nick takes the time to build trust, which is a skill more producers need to develop! Nick is good people AND a great musician, producer, and engineer. ”

“Nick was unwaveringly confident in me, but still allowed me to express my own concerns and insecurities. This allowed me to feel like he was listening actively to what I was saying all the time. No lip service. It felt so natural working with Nick. I don’t want to say easy, because the work isn’t easy, but I always felt like I was doing exactly what I should be doing when I was there. The planning that happened in advance, and clear layout of budget, goals, and expectations made me feel like I had enough time to plan in advance. Beyond the business side, Nick has an artistry and an ear for textural richness that I really appreciate. He’s talented and it seems like he thrives on work that’s done well.”
— Katie Kuffell
“I think you are very good at listening to me and going in the direction I want to take any given project, but you also try and let me know what other options exist and how they might be beneficial. I think you try very hard to work within my budget and balance that with my aspirations. I think you have a great studio space, team of musicians at your disposal, and a desire to make great art. You also care a lot. You push me to go a little bit further but aren’t heavy-handed about it. You also make things sound good”
— Marcus Fakler
FAQ
How does this work?
Step 1: Once you’ve signed up and sent payment, we will send you a confirmation email with details of the session and some options for scheduling our pre-production meeting.
Step 2: Time to share the song! Send me a “one take” work tape of the song and please make sure it is the final arrangement of the song, or as close to it as possible - this will be a big help and allow me to be better prepared at our pre production meeting.
Step 3: Next we will meet for our 45-min pre-production meeting. During the meeting we will go over your vision, your style, arrangement choices and what sounds you have been dreaming up in your head and heart.
*If you live in Nashville/will be attending the session in person: After our pre-production meeting, you will need to send me the final work tape. This version of the song will be the basis for the chart that the band and I will follow. It informs the final mix/production. Please make sure that you practice along to this version of the song.
*If you live outside of Nashville and will be sending tracks to record to: After our pre production meeting, you’ll then send me the final vocal and instrument (one instrument such as acoustic guitar) as a WAV file. Since this will be the actual vocal performance for your single, take your time to make sure you get it right and feel really good about the take. We will go over any recording tips, questions, ideas and details in our pre production meeting. Take your time, and feel good about the outcome!
Step 4: It’s time for us to record! The actual day will be a fun one where the band and I lay down all of the tracks that make up your production.
What is the total cost?
$1200 is the total cost for 1 song, fully produced and mixed with 2 added instruments (bass and drums are automatically included, so pick any other two from keyboards, acoustic and electric guitar, pedal steel). Your vocals are provided by you. If additional vocals, instruments, or more than 1 mix revision is needed, additional fees will apply.
Can I record more than one song?
Yes! We invite you to record as many songs as you’d like at this limited rate. Simply change the quantity when checking out. Keep in mind it’s first come first serve.
What if I don’t want drums and bass?
No problem. You can decide your song doesn’t call for bass and drums. Maybe just shaker and tambourine, either way it’s your vision so it’s all good. Please note it does not cost any less to omit bass and drums.
How do I record great vocals and guitar at home to send you?
I will go over best tips and practices on how to record your vocals at home when we meet for our pre-production meeting.
How long does the process take?
Once the song is recorded, the mix will be ready in 2-4 weeks.
When does the session take place?
The sessions will take place this July through September, 2025 TBD.
