THE BUILDING OF A DREAM | 3.7.24

It's funny to try and boil down what this means to me, and to us. Dreams aren't always what we think they are, and rarely do they evolve to look the way we thought they should and would. Over the ten years of being in Nashville, I have evolved, learned and grown. Fifteen years ago, if you would've told me that I would be married with three kids, living in Nashville and building a dream come true recording studio, I would have laughed at you, at least about the Nashville part. Now, I thank my lucky stars that life has brought me to this place. And I think of our boys, how they are going to grow up on this beautiful farm, surrounded by music, surrounded by instruments, with artists coming and going. I think of the artists who will come here, hearts full, voices loud and excited to grow into the great artist (and person) they are meant to grow into. I pinch myself at how lucky I am to be able to help them realize that greatness and realize their dream.

Dreams do come true, yes they don't always look the way we thought they would, and there are a lot of details along the way that are out of our control, but this building we are creating, the spirit of this place, on this land is a testatment to the spirit and gifts that life can and does bring into reality. We can't wait to share this journey with you.

A NOTE FROM MEREDITH

Today I changed my email signature to read Creative Director & Founder of Freda Recording. I never imagined writing that title or having a place at this table with my husband. I agree with Nick, “Dreams aren't always what we think they are, and rarely do they evolve to look the way we thought they should and would.”

I’ve had many titles–hairstylist, artist, designer, coach, consultant–and now creative director. With every title comes a certain set of expectations and skills, but what I’ve learned over the years is that a title does not define me, it does not limit me, and it does not equal my potential.

Our imagination, our dreams, and our abilities are truly endless. What we’re capable of is beyond our comprehension. Our vision to create this recording studio is only a fraction of a bigger picture that we have no control over. Our title is only a fraction of our potential.

When you find yourself thinking what am I doing with my life? (which I have found myself asking that very question many times) remember your dreams, remember your innate talent, and remember your endless potential.
